Crdownload files can also be simply removed from the disk, if we have arrears and take up a lot of space. It is worth doing this when we know that we will not resume the download or the downloaded file is no longer needed.

Crdownload files are also often created when the download was turned on twice and a second file with the same name was downloaded. We will notice that then we can have e.g. Dropbox (1) .exe and Dropbox.exe.crdownload files. Then we can safely delete the .crdownload file. If we also see very old .crdownload files in the download folder, then it's a good idea to delete them as well, as there is little chance of restarting the download from the same point and the files only take up space unnecessarily.
